Q1. Is the MBA program approved by AICTE?

A1: Not required, as it is a part of JIIT University . As a Deemed University , JIIT is fully authorized to start a new management program.

Q2. Is JIIT approved by UGC?

A2: Yes, JIIT is a Deemed university recognized by the UGC and is also featured in the UGC website.

Q3. How different is JBS from most B-schools?

A3: There are about 1500 business schools in India but only few make it to the Top. JBS is significantly different from most in several ways. The elective courses are offered in a group of 4 courses. This is basically done with the objective to provide in-depth understanding of the subject, for example- Elective sets of 4 courses each in Financial Management, International Finance and Financial Services. (Details are given in the curriculum).

Q4. Is JBS having an independent Infrastructure?

A4: JBS is a part of JIIT and therefore has access to JIIT resources but also has its independent infrastucture.

Q5. Who are the faculty members ?

A5: JBS has 20 full time faculty members besides two Research Associates. Of these 9 are with Ph.D Degree and the others have Industry experience. The average academic experience of JBS faculty is 9 years and the average industry experience of the faculty is more than 7 and half years. Thus JBS faculty has right blend of industry and academic base. Select courses and modules are taught by international faculty / guest faculty from the industry.

 

Q6. What is the duration of the MBA?

A6.  Six trimester of 10 -12 weeks in two years.

Q7: Will our placement be as good as or better than other B- Schools?

A7: Yes .Placements are very good.90% students of the first batch got placed through campus placement.As far as the second batch is concerned more than 75% students were placed by March 2010

Q8. What may be the package at the time of placement?

A8: According to our survey JBS ranks 28th in India amongst all Business Schools on "Return On Investment" i.e,salary to fee paid ratio.

Q9.Do students go out for management internships?

A9: JBS schedules two internships for the Two year Full Time MBA Program as an opportunity in business leadership and social orientation. The first is a 6-8 weeks corporate internship in the summer scheduled after the third term of the first year of the program. The other internship is 4 weeks long social internship during the Program.

 

Q10.What about Hostel Facility for students?

 

A10.JIIT has limited hostel facility which is extended to JBS students also.A new hostel building is under construction and will be fully operational by 2012
