Q1. What are the admission criteria for the DDM Program?
A 1: JIIT admits students through AIEEE for the B. Tech Programs and same is followed for DDM.
Q2. What is the Curriculum plan for DDM?
A2: The Broad Roadmaps are already uploaded.
Q3. How ‘Management’ courses are offered to the DDM students?
A3: DDM students are offered 2 “Management” courses per semester during the 2nd to 8th semester of the B.Tech. program and thereafter they join the regular 2nd year MBA students in the fifth year of the DDM program.
Q4: How many specializations are there at JBS?
A4: The electives are offered both in Functional as well as sectoral areas. The functional electives are in Finance, Marketing and Advertising Strategy, HR, Operations and Logistics management. The sectoral electives are in Financial services, Retailing, Healthcare, Infrastructure Management, Information Systems Management.
Q5. Who are the faculty members ?
A5: JBS faculty is a community of core, visiting and adjunct faculty members who are highly accomplished in their field. The full time faculty of JBS is well qualified rich industry experience. Details can be seen on the website itself.
Q6. What is the advantage of DDM over the B.Tech program?
A6: Several. To begin with, you will be managerially equipped to handle your technical job more effectively. You should receive better placement, respect at work place and rapid career progress. Finally, you save one year, pay lower program fee and complete MBA from a business school with excellent infrastructure, outstanding faculty and innovative curriculum.
Q7. I want to do MBA from a premier institute. Why should I waste a year here?
A7: We wish you good luck and you are welcome to do so. You need to be realistic as for the premier institutions only 1 out of 300 candidates is selected. As far as one year is concerned, it is a matter of perception; we would say that you save one year.
Q8. Will two degrees be awarded?
A8: Yes, two separate degrees. One for B.Tech from JIIT and another for MBA from JBS as a constituent of the JIIT University but both the degrees are awarded on successful completion of the DDM Program in the fifth year only.
Q9. If I discontinue DDM program during or after four year B.Tech, then what?
A9: No Degree can be awarded as you would have failed to complete the DDM program requirements as stipulated above.
Q10. Will the DDM students be allowed B.Tech placements?
A10: No. By accepting to register for the DDM program, you cease to be a B.Tech only student and instead become a DDM student.
Q11. What will be the nature of the placement jobs under the DDM?
A11: There is no difference in the quality of placements as against the regular MBA program.
Q12: When will the JBS Placements start?
A12: In the Fifth and Final year (from September onwards).
Q13: Is JBS placement going to be as good as or better than JIIT and other business schools?
A13: Our first batch passed out in 2009 and the second in 2010. The placements have been very good in the first two batches, much better than other business schools. For details refer to the “placement” on the website.
Q14. What may be the package at the time of JBS placement?
A14: It will be industry-competitive, subject to your performance, attitude and cooperation but certainly better than the B.Tech. programs.
Q15. Is JBS having an independent Infrastructure?
A15: JBS is located within the campus of JIIT and has a separate academic block. In addition JBS students have access to JIIT resources.
